Accessibility

Urban Reef is located on the promenade, on the beach. Sadly we don’t have any doorstep drop off facilities, however it’s possible to drop Grandma and the family off at the roundabout whilst you park the car. There is no lift access to the first floor restaurant & balcony, but there is plenty of flat level ground floor seating to enjoy. There are easy access toilets on the ground floor too - These are in the lobby of the right hand entrance.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome anywhere on the ground floor terrace decked areas. We have water bowls for our furry friends and delicious fresh food & drink for their less furry families.

Weather

We know that the British Summer can sometimes be far less than favourable. If you have booked for a balcony table then

we will accommodate your booking up on the mezzanine floor of our restaurant. If we need to close due to the weather then we will contact you to let you know.

Pizza

Our pizzas are served from The Wood Oven which is technically our next door neighbour. These pizzas are super nice, but just to let you know we do not serve them in our upstairs restaurant when you have booked for lunch or dinner. You can grab a chair down on the first floor, or a bench on the beach or walk off to your hut with them.

Allergies

We cater for guests with a variety of dietary requirements, from dairy and gluten free to strawberry allergies. Our menus show which dishes can be served with a gluten free option, but   you have an allergy or intolerance to particular ingredients we’ll always try to find an alternative. This works best when we know in advance so give us a call or drop a note on your booking.

Little ones

A good number of our team are parents and know that taking little people out for a meal can, at times, be stressful. But it’s also a chance to spend time together and for the next generation to fall in love with food and drink. Families always get a warm welcome and we have books and games to borrow as well as an activity pack with each kids meal. We even have a mini-chef menu.

Time-slots

Tables are rebooked every two hours. If you are running late, then the table would still be needed back two hours after your booked arrival time.

Drinks bookings

We don’t take bookings for drinks only. Just pop down, grab a bit of space on the ground floor and relax

Tables with a "nice view"

We genuinely love each table we have. We’ve sat at all of them at some point. We find that people like to look at the sea. Thank fully when we designed the restaurant we realised this may be the case and put (pretty much) floor to ceiling windows along the front of the restaurant so no matter where you sit, you will get a nice view.

Waiting lists

We don't hold a waiting list for bookings. It's great that you're keen though. If you're in the area then we do occasionally have room for walk-ins so pop by and say 'hi'. There’s also a whole ground floor and beach which is un-bookable for those spur off the moment visits, or those who struggle keeping to a plan and are a bit more ‘breezy’ about arrival times.

Do we want to be on TV

Probably / maybe. If you're looking for a location to shoot from, please contact us by email.

Deposits / refunds

When booking we charge £5 per guest in advance through a secure payment system. The T's & C's are here:

A common problem restaurants have is ‘no shows’ of reservations. We used to simply try and manage this with ‘walk ins’ to fill the gap. This is no longer an option so we are asking you to pay a £5 per person deposit to secure your table. This will be deducted from your bill on the evening. Please give us 24 hours notice if you do not require your reservation. Deposits are fully transferable to a future date should you need to change your plans for health or personal circumstances. Thank you for your understanding.

What's the meaning of life

We're still working on the book, but in general, some rules are Don't be a D*ick, Be curious, Be Happy, Give Hugs.

Favourite drinks

We do like Pina Coladas, but not getting caught in the rain.

More than 6 people

The maximum table size we run on a day to day basis is 6.

Jobs

Seasonally we do recruit teams for our venues. Please pop a CV over to [email protected] and we can chat, or check out our current vacancies.

It won't let me book this time and date

If you can't see the time and date you are looking for there are two probable answers: 1) We are fully booked at that timeslot, so maybe try another time 2) we are closed that day.

Gift vouchers

Would you like to give someone the gift of food, booze or sleep? You would! Excellent. Head to our shop and snap up a voucher .

Parking

As we are located on the promenade we don’t have any drop off access. There are a few car parks (££) and plenty of FREE & ££ street parking nearby.

For those taking the bus, taxi, walking or cycling, scooting, skating, surfing or on hoverboard, you can use the rather wonderful WHAT3WORDS app to bring you right to our front door. Just search for film.level.native in the app.
